Replacement grommets
A good replacment for longcase winder hole grommets can be easily made from the ‘eyelets and rings’ sold by most hardware shops. These are made in brass and only need to be snipped with a pair of snips to turn them into very acceptable grommets. They cost about £4.50 for a pack of 25. Several sizes are available.
