DIY tooling shimsWhen using a small centre lathe to turn very small diameters, there is always the problem of packing the cutting tool to exactly the right centre height.Available packings are invariable too thick or too thin. To overcome this, use an old set of feeler guages. Drill out the holding rivet and you now have a perfect set of tooling shims. These will always pack into any thickness required.
