Doug G Cowan
Doug G Cowan, native of Canada, is now resident and citizen of the USA, living in Cincinnati Ohio.
He is a graduate chemical engineer, with international career experience, including four years in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.
While working in England and looking for new hobbies, Doug read Ullyett's In Quest of Clocks, a life-changing experience!
His collecting and study interests are broad, and vary in intensity from time to time. He is probably best known for his knowledge of carriage clocks, but has also
made serious studies of English key wind watches, Canadian clocks, American banjo clocks and early American shelf clocks.
He is currently learning about Japanese clocks pre-1873, and Chinese incense timepieces. As past president of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors,
Doug has published several articles and columns in the NAWCC Bulletin as well as writing for Clocks, and British Horology Times, a newsletter for
NAWCC members with a particular interest in British clocks.
